In the example illustrated, Robert initiates a call to Annie. The call is digitized for Internet transmission through babyBOX, goes out over the Internet to the babyTEL Gateway, then goes through the public network to Annie's telephone.
If Robert calls Denis, another babyTEL user, the public telephone network is bypassed and the call goes directly over the Internet to Denis' babyTEL Softphone .
When Annie calls Robert, she just dials his telephone number and the call passes from the public network through the babyTEL gateway, then the Internet, then babyBOX to Robert's telephone.
Robert or Denis' unanswered calls are forwarded to their voice mailbox at the central office. They access their messages by telephone or listen to them on their PC.
People on the go like Denis can use the babyTEL Softphone that resides on their laptop PC. |
